‘Stay stare and give thanks’, written on a piece of stone placed at the top of Cunswick Scar cairn today, as part of what looked like a families offerings and prayers, (some stones seemed to have portraits on them) including a rainbow for the NHS, which said ‘This too shall pass.’ It has been a gorgeous day, the fells with incredible lights on them, reflecting the clouds above. Blackpool Tower again in the distance. The family’s stones seemed to sum up our prayers at the moment. The terrible loss of life and the service of the NHS and others, sometimes at a dreadful cost to themselves, and then the amazing renewal of creation which seems to have breathed deeply again with the lack of our pollution in the skies and rivers and seas. Hopefully we will remember later our present reflections and prayers.
